On November 3, 2018, the inaugural meeting of the "Stomatology Digital Technology Research and Application Alliance" initiated by Peking University Hospital of Stomatology was held in Beijing. Jin Xiaotao (formal deputy director of National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People’s Republic of China, president of Chinese Health Information and Big Data Association, CHIBDA), Liu Dengfeng (divisional ombudsman of Department of Health Science, Technology Education, National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China), Tang Yonglin (director of Department of Planning and Information, National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China), Sun Jiaguang (academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, director of National Engineering Laboratory of Big Data System Software, professor of Tsinghua University), professor Zhang Zhenkang(Founding President of Chinese Stomatological Association), professor Lin Jiuxiang(former vice president of Peking University)，Fan Chunmei(Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee of Peking University Health Science Center), Yu Guangyan(president of Chinese Stomatological Association), Guo Chuanbin and Zhou Yongsheng(dean and secretary of party committee of Peking University Hospital of Stomatology), and more than 300 guests and teachers and students from 107 member countries across the country attended the conference. On behalf of the collage, professor Liu Bin, dean of the School/ Hospital of Stomatology Lanzhou University, and associate professor Zhang Kailiang, head of the Department of Prosthodontics and Director of the Medical Department attended the inaugural meeting. 

The establishment of the “Stomatology Digital Technology Research and Application Alliance” plays a positive role in further enhancing the overall level of stomatology digital technology in China. The cross-integration of cutting-edge technologies, including stomatology digital technology, medical artificial intelligence, and big data, will initiate a new pattern for the development of stomatology for the research and application of digital medicine in stomatology.

As a member of the “alliance”, the School/Hospital of Stomatology Lanzhou University will follow the pace of leading institutions such as Peking University, and will use the advanced oral digital medical technology into oral medical services. We will implement major strategies such as national science and education to rejuvenate the nation, healthy China, and health care big data, and do our best to build a first-class dental discipline.
